Our sites and museums are for everyone. Here you'll find information on accessible facilities and resources to help you plan your visit.

Getting Around

  • There are three disabled parking spaces available toward the bottom of Mushroom Lane near the tennis courts (access to the museum from these is through the park).
  • Blue badge holders may also park in the Pay & Display bays on Mushroom Lane, (near the Dam House entrance) and on Damer Street (near to the Weston Park gates) without the need to pay or adhere to the 4-hour max stay. Similar Pay & Display bays are also available for use a little further away on Northumberland Road.
  • Wheelchairs are available to borrow on request – to book in advance of your visit, please email info@sheffieldmuseums.org.uk, or call 0114 278 2600 and press 0 to be put through to the switchboard.
  • Weston Park Museum is fully wheelchair accessible. All exhibitions and displays are on the ground floor of the building and the upstairs activity rooms are easily accessible via the lift.

  • Both our Sheffield Life and Times and Sheffield Stories galleries include videos and audio which can be heard in the gallery.
  • Museum can be loud during busy periods, particularly weekends and school holidays between 11am – 3pm. We often welcome school groups during the week, but they tend to have left by early afternoon.

  • Ear defenders available on request at reception
